이번 호에서는 ‘공동주택과 관련된 용어 중 주로 인적 주체와 관련된 용어’ 중심으로 약 60가지를 정리했습니다. 의미상 사용가능한 여러 영단어들이 있되, 이 글에서는 한국법제연구원의 영문법령 용어를 표준으로 삼았습니다.
법제연구원의 영문법령에는 공동주택관리법과 시행령, 시행규칙이 번역돼 있습니다. 그래서 제가 주택관리사(보)시험에 합격할 무렵부터 영문 번역판이 없는 관리준칙을 번역하기 시작했는데, 올해 준칙 개정에 따른 수정작업을 하며 모두 법제연구원의 영문법령용어를 표준으로 정비했습니다.
얼마 전 한국주택관리연구원에서도 ‘Multi-Family Housing Management in Korea’라는 영문책자를 출판했습니다만 그 책은 주목적이 우리나라의 공동주택 관리제도, 주택관리사 자격 제도 등을 해외에 소개·홍보하기 위한 것이라 하고요. 아래의 용어들은, 법제연구원의 영문법령이나 위 주택관리연구원의 영문책자에 실려 있다 할지라도, 숙지해 실무에 사용할 수 있도록 게시문이나 안내문에 자주 쓰이는 용어를 몇 가지 범주로 나눠 정리한 것입니다.
